View Full Version : MIA - Robert Goren & badcompany

I know Detective Goren had/has his share of health problems, and has been known to disappear from here for stretches at a time, but I'm starting to worry about him. Has anyone corresponded with him since December?

And badcompany just dropped off the face of the planet (well, if you confine the planet to here at PaceAdvantage). He was a regular feature, especially in off-topic financial discussions, but he simply and completely disappeared sometime in August. I would really like to know if he is ok. I met him a number of times at some of the Saratoga Toga-Parties and really hope he is ok and just for some reason got fed up with this place.

Maybe they're not as fond of this site as they used to be and, therefore, don't post regularly anymore.
That's the case with me.

Yeah, that's probably it. Thanks for the input.

Then again, I already included that as a possibility in my initial post, so I'm kind of looking for something beyond the kind of unique perspective you just brought to the table.

He's apparently still upset I merged two Premiership threads together. Oh well.

Thought of Robert last week. He has a great deal of health problems, and that's concerning as he was away ... a while back, yet returned. Hope he and Bad Company are, both, doing ok.

I recall that there was once a thread where he posted his real name (I remember random stuff like this sometimes), so I did a search. His real name, again posted right here at Pace Advantage, is Perry Tunks. He has a Facebook page...last post is December 6 and it shows him in a wheelchair in what looks to be a medical facility. Hope he is doing okay. Maybe one of you who knows him pretty well could reach out to him or one of his Facebook friends.

Very nice gesture Kingfinn.

Actually, that picture is December 9th. He and I are distant friends on Facebook.

But you are right. Nothing since and he just had a birthday. Lots of well-wishes but no response from him.

Hope he is well.

The detective had said that Paceadvantage was inaccessible to him while he was hospitalized. The fact that he hasn't been communicating via Facebook has to be considered a bad sign, though. I fear the worst...while hoping for the best.

He had some problems with wifi and computer access at his assisted living center, too....but as you say, Thask, this isn't good. This is a long time gone. He's had such health problems. :(

I posted about Bobby a couple of weeks in the MIA thread.....getting worried.
I know he loved to banter back and forth on issues, so his absence is not good. Hopefully, it is just he doesn't have access to the internet and will back.

Keep a good thought for the good Detective.

Kingfin, very nice of you to look that up. I was trying to remember his real name but couldn't find it.

My lack of posting has been health related. On dec 10 I was hospitalized with blood clots on my lungs and internal bleeding. Where I was at I had no internet access. 11 blood infusion later and try several drugs change they think they have it under control. Unfortunately I have had to move from assisted living to long care. But from now on I should be back to posting. Thanks to everybody for the concern. Robert

I am glad to hear that you are doing better. By the way, I apologize for posting your real name in this thread. It was a random thing that I remembered you having posted on the site at one time. Would never do it under normal circumstances. My best to you.

Great to hear, Robert!

I went through the blood clots in the lungs in 2006.
Nasty stuff - you're lucky to be alive.

Make a full recovery, and get strong.

Wow... so glad to read that post. I could feel a lump forming in my throat when I saw the thread had been bumped. I was a little afraid to hear something much less positive. Your friends in off-topic in particular need some of that good old Goren logic. Get back to work.

Edited because I think I was supposed to say 'also a client', not 'member' dammitall.
