I was in class when it happened. The principle came over the loud speaker and announced he had bad news. The guy sitting next to me blurts out "I bet the space shuttle blew up." The principle then says "the space shuttle blew up." Pretty impressive guess for a 17 year old. I won't ever forget that moment in class.

The image of Christa McAuliffe's parents when things first started going wrong is burnt into my mind. Terrible day.
