Some additional thoughts at Mahoning Valley for Tuesday. Ramblings aren't always wagers.

Race 1 - #9 UNBRIDLED FANCY stumbled start 12Jan; 5 wide into the turn versus blazing splits; still trying late. #5 SOMETHING NAUGHTY was full of run at the wire last time; outside that day's "golden rail." Delta shippers to Josh Faulkner's barn like #6 PLATINUM TRIANGLE always peak interest -

Race 2 - #4 PURRPURRPURR last effort was against better company than the condition would suggest; Agustin Brocha gets the mount. #3 SUPERSTARDOM at right level; returns to sprinting. #2 BURN PERMIT went extremely wide turn for home 11Jan; lost all hope -

Race 3 - Three Ohio-bred first after maiden breakers square off: #6 FAITHFUL JUSTICE was well backed last time; Shane Meyers' runners from the Key to Riches Stable (7-4-2-1) have been productive. #2 TUNE UP also seems to be on the rise. Tough to trust the move to winners but the vets seem to be struggling -

Race 4 - #2 (PP1) MOZZAFIATO rushed up wide after missing the break against solid company 13Jan; inside trip today. Elliot Sullivan sends a well matched pair #1 (PP4, PP4) GIVEITMYBESTSHOT and #1A (POE, PP9) into open company; WIND CHILL may have an advantage at this distance. #5 PRINCESS MALIA was third behind MOZZAFIATO in that possible key race 13Jan. #7 BREAKING THE CITY adds intrique shipping from Laurel -

Race 5 - Tough race to kick-off pick 4: #4 LITTLE SIDE STEP returns to sprinting for hot barn. #11 SPORTFISHER had to be facing better at Delta Downs -

Race 6 - #5 WITH GRATITUDE tries as hard as anything on the grounds. #6 SOUTHERN VALENTINE scratched into this spot. Team Radosevich brings #2 JOHANNAH JO north to try on sandy soil -

Race 7 - Money burner #10 TENSAS TOUGH adds Christian Pilares following 12Jan klunker; outside leverage today. Back class, blinkers and early speed give Hawthorne shipper #7 HAWKS NEST a shot; Bermundez has done most of his winning with this type. Abundance of speed gives 200-1 "miracle" horse #4 RB WILD PROMISE another chance to come running -

Race 8 - The finale at MVR is typically an adventure. Past performance logic isn't always the solution to nailing the winner: #7 HIDDEN HALO has been knocking at the door since arriving in Ohio -

Spot Plays for MVRC 1-26-16:

Race 4: #1A Wind Charm. Sullivan was shut out on yesterday's card. The only chink in his armor has been winning off extended layoffs. Not the case here. This mare loves real dirt and has 2 wins and a 2nd at MVR. She moves up the condition ladder today.
#6 Hope For Tomorrow. Should improve 2nd time over the local surface. A huge positive jockey change to Pilares adds appeal. A must use underneath.

Race 6: #6 Southern Valentine. She was scratched out of yesterday's opener. Her stablemate looked impressive winning that one at 10-1. This group looks a bit weaker than the one she would have faced Monday.
#2 Johanna Jo. Spent the last 6 months running on synthetics at Turfway and Presque Isle. She did run well here last year hitting the board 4 of 5 .
#9 Guyana Princess. Temperamental mare can run very well or very poorly. She did win when Bracho rode two races back. He's on again, so we'll she how she likes that.

Beware of the Hawthorne shippers today. Some or all have a chance.

This is nationwide. This happened yesterday as well after MVR's 8th race. It took about 20 minutes to payout. Relax and just keep firing into the pools!:)

3 bets i will be having...


Race 3 - Faithful Justice - showed improvement last time. Ran home in a good time for the grade. Comes in form with the best trainer. Tune Up won well last time and is also improving but the time wasn't as good as the selections.

Race 6 - With Gratitude - very tough race but the selection is very consistent and I expect the horse to make the frame at least.

Race 8 - Hidden Halo - big danger to the selection is Chosen Tune, who ships in from Hawthorn and has superior figures. However, I was impressed with Hidden Halo's last two runs and the horse holds a few of these on those two runs and clearly likes the track.

Lets see what happens.

I agree 100% Gib. The entire Racing Dept. at MVRC is a class act. I still pinch myself when I go there and get to watch live racing and participate in a small way. Just over 2 years ago that area of land was nothing but trees, mud and rocks.
