Denver also has two of the three worst losses ever in a SB.
Now of course those were not both under the helm of manning. However, the SEATTLE loss has to be in their minds.
Cam seems to be playing lights out right now and the Panthers just absolutely annihilated the number two seed from the NFC.
I would love to see a very tight scoring SB that comes down to the wire. However, I feel as this could be another to get out of hand relatively quickly if Denver is not careful.
Cam and the Panthers are playing street ball and having fun. The stage lights aren't scaring them (as of now at least).

The following post will prove that retirement can give one way too much time on their hands !

This is the breakdown of all teams that have won a SB divided by the number of years they were eligible to win, i.e. the years they were in the league since SB 1 played in 1967, the :66 season.

From highest % to lowest:

Pittsburgh - 12%
Baltimore Ravens- Dallas- Green Bay- San Francisco 10%
NY Giants- NE Pats 8%
Oakland- Washington and Baltimore Colts- 6%
Miami- Denver-4%
Indy Colts- 3%
Jets-KC-Bears-St. Louis Rams-Tampa-Seattle N.O.Saints 2

Rams are listed 2x which is why you have a total of 33 teams.

Interesting list.

Interesting list.

There would have been 33 had I posted the Cardinals during the SB years 1967 to the present; the team played in St louis, Phoenix and Arizona during that time frame. I excluded Phoenix.

If you ask me, the Lions are the biggest loser of the 4 that have never gone.Detroit has been in the NFL for 27 years more than Jacksonville in the Super Bowl Era and even longer than the Browns and Texans.

Culture problems keep teams from getting it done. Bozos like Matt Millen are making decisions, Jim Caldwell is coach.

Green Bay has four SB titles (I, II, XXXI, XLV), not five.
As mentioned, Denver has two SB titles (XXXII, XXXIII).
If it matters, Raiders have two Oakland SB titles (XI, XV) and one L.A. SB title (XVIII).

Of course many teams have NFL titles pre-dating Super Bowl I in January 1967 as well. Cleveland and Detroit (4 each) were very strong in the 1950s.

Peyton Manning, Super Bowl winner.....loser.............and possible Has Been after this one pans out. We shall see, but this may be a tall order for him.

Russell Wilson was dogged for the first half and Carlson Palmer the entire game..........this could be ugly for him.

Payton's not concerned at all....

I know, he won't win or lose this one on his own with this team. The defense is the heart of this team. But this will be the narrative for a week and a half. "Is Peyton a has been?" He's not the same and has not been for a while. If they have any chance it will be a "team" effort. Just like last week.

Miami scored the fewest points in SB history in both a win and a loss,

SB VI loss 3 points
SB VII win 14 points

San Fran scored the most points in a victory - 55 in SB XIV

San Fran and San Diego combined to score 75 points in SB XXIX, the highest scoring game to date.

49er's 49 San Diego 26

The Ravens scored the same point total in both of their wins- 34

Don't have Carolina listed. At this moment, they're at zero, aren't they. They'll change that ASAP, of course.
