I am attending the Kentucky Derby for the first time this year, and was wondering for those that have attended in the past, what advice would you give to someone going for the first time?
I fly in the Tuesday before and already have the Derby museum & a backstretch tour of Churchill Downs the Wednesday AM before the Derby.
And I also already have tickets for the Oaks but not the Derby. I'd like to get seats for the Derby, but am likely planning to wait til the week or maybe day before the race to try to scoop tickets at a better price. Is that a good idea? Might do the infield too, which is no issue for me since they installed the big board and i'm under 30 lol.
Leaning toward staying the first two days in Louisville then going to Lexington for Thurs-Sat. Seems like that makes a big difference in price.
Where are the places to eat? What are the other places not to miss? Any advice is appreciated!
