Harlem Globetrotters great Meadowlark Lemon has died at age 83 at his home in Arizona.

RIP. Saw him play at MSG, late 50's - early 60's, and actually met him when the Globetrotters visited the Boys Club of Queens in Astoria, 1961.

But, it must be noted that this song isn't sung by neither Meadowlark Lemon nor anyone associated with The Harlem Globetrotters.

A studio recording group was permitted to use both the Globetrotters name and picture on the LP cover. The lead singer is John Ralph Bailey. Bailey was also a member of the excellent doo wop group, The Cadillacs.

To me Meadowlark was The Harlem Globetrotters, I didn"t enjoy them as much after he retired from the court.

saw him at pgh civic arena as kid..the guy went three for three shooting half court hooks..great showman..unreal skills...me and my pal, rob morrow, used to go to my basement and crank up sweet Georgia brown while we practiced fancy dribbling...sweet, sweet memory
