I'm looking forward to some nice returns.

Was struck by :8: 's eye catching final sectional time of 21:52, even if it was in a Griffin race. Today I did a track variant of that day and on a day when the average race was fast by .25, :8: 's race was slow by 1.84 which would give him a projected time of 125.14 today. This is really slow. BTW, it was a 5 horse race, he was 6-5 and won by a nose.

:3: Won a maiden auction (mdn claiming?) race in GB. Probably was not worth the shipping costs. Good jockey-3% trainer.

:10: & :11: are the early speed. :11: comes from class 4 and draws post #13. :10: draws from post #4 and has an a 10lb apprentice allowance meaning he'll carry 105 lbs. If he can break on top and get a relaxed lead, could very well be part of the Quiniela.

:1: has decent figures, but out of 8 starts has 5 places and shows but no wins. Post 9
:2: is similar to # :1: but likes to win. Post 1

:7: , :9: & :12: should all be finishing fast. # :12: has Joe Moreira and is likely to be over bet.

After all this I have no solid opinion of who or how I'll bet this race. :)

Not a big day for betting for me, too many unknowns due to all the ship-ins. It's pretty much just a day to enjoy the races.

For those of us who handicap the PPs ( ;) ) it's a puzzle, that's for sure. The horses in Hong Kong race in such a closed environment with so few exceptions, it's really hard to gauge how good they are.


Fortunately, tonight's program does have some nice data, at least for the feature races (i.e., the 4th)

Maybe more of a place chance than a win chance, but I taking a shot with :7: Jun Gon. He has had trouble in has last tow races. Third and fourth races back were competitive.

Nice write up. I think the winner is the one you started with, as the :8: does have some nice splits and is getting bet - we'll see if he's ready.

HK Sprint it's Gold Fun's race to lose because all his main rivals are drawn all the way outside. Of the Japanese contenders, I'd rather take Sakura Gospel just for the fact that Zac Purton is riding, local track knowledge. I would be surprised if Sole Power or Penaphobia wins. Don't think Not Listenin'Tome is up to that class and still think his best distance is 5F. He's got such a short burst.
