Race One:

1 PRIVATE ASHLEY draws the pylons and retains the services of Bruce Aldrich, Jr. This Cole Muffler-bred mare should be on or near the lead. She has enough of a closing kick to get her picture taken. 5 IM A NICE GIRL is a 6 year-old chestnut mare who may well contend for the lead. This Dragon Again-bred won against slightly weaker in her last. In her current good form… 3 A TRUE SMERK has won two in a row. She fits well in this company and should be charging home in the stretch. Finally, 6 INCREDIBLE GAMBLER could be the surprise factor; she stands a decent chance of hitting the tote. If a fast pace develops up front, she would benefit. Might complete a tri.

Race Two:

3 ROLANDALE BUSTER may have needed his last as he returned to Monticello after a stint at Saratoga. This 5-year-old gelding most certainly faced better at “The Spa”. 2 WE NEVER GETACOLT fits well in this company. This Walton Hanover-bred draws an improved starting post. Jim Marohn, Jr is in the sulky. 6 CLASSIC CAN DREAM ships in from Pocono where he turned in solid times against better. My only concern is the three-week layoff since he was last seen on the racetrack. 7 HD’S DREAMBOY is my longshot value play. This Cambest-bred gelding has admittedly shown little in recent efforts; yet he does fit in this company. If the early speed ties up, he can become a distinct factor. Bruce Aldrich, Jr. is in the bike.

Race Three:

1 EASTER BAY draws the rail. This gelding now drops into a spot that should be a winning one. A 1:56.2 at Monticello earlier in the year speaks volumes. 2 DONTTAKEYOURGUNS draws a better starting post. Didn’t do well in slop last time. Now catches a fast track. Can compete. 5 CORWHINY has faced better in the past. Might possibly complete an exotic. 8 WAKE will have to overcome that outside post. Yet on his best he can get part.

Race Four:

2 SAMSAWINNER won his last against better company. His driver, Jim Taggart, Jr., has been as hot as a firecracker (5 winners on Thursday’ card). This gelding should make the lead; he’ll be tough to collar. 1 GANSEVOORT draws the pylons. This is a board-hitting type that should be considered in your exotics. 4 PAULA’S BRADY did bot handle the slop in his last; can contend here. 7 EXCELLENT VACATION has hit the tote in her last three. In her current solid form, she merits consideration.

Race Five:

4 SENSATIONALIST will be out in going when the starter’s car’s wings retract. Driver Kyle DiBenedetto will then need to ration out this Cambest-bred gelding’s speed. 8 WHOLLY LOUY is the major threat. Must overcome outside post. Larry Stalbaum’s a most capable gate-driver. He should have this Camluck-bred out and going. 3 PASSIONATE TERROR is capable of closing; he should be in solid position to mount a closing charge. 1 FUGAZZI draws an inside post. Although he’s been campaigning against weaker, he might just complete an exotic.

Race Six:

8 STORMONT LANCELOT will have to overcome the outside post; yet, as previously mentioned, Larry Stalbaum is very good at getting his horse away from the gate quickly and into contention for the early lead. If Stalbaum can do just that, this gelding may be tough to catch. 2 MONICA’S IMAGE drops down and draws a good starting post. This mare should be sitting no worse than second or third as the horses are heading for the quarter-pole. A late move could put her right there. 5 MAYD FORTHEFUTURE has been a consistent sort; she’s hit the tote in four out of her last five. Jim Marohn, Jr. is in the bike. 6 MY CINNAMON GIRL merits consideration; she fits well in this company.

Race Seven:

1 TALLDARKNHANDSOME looks like the horse to beat here. A solid winning effort last time in this company. Jim Marohn, Jr. reprises the drive. 2 WIZARD OF ART looks like the major competition. Should the top pick falter, this Art Major-bred looks like he can pick up the pieces. 3 SHOW TOPPER is another horse that merits consideration. This gelding turned in a solid time in defeating weaker. 5 ATTACK THE LAND could be “a sleeper” here. This Life Sign-bred gelding finished second in the slop.

Race Eight:

7 LEGENDS LUCK was last seen campaigning at The Meadowlands. This Camluck-bred gelding drew the extreme outside post in that one, yet he finished a respectable 5th in 1:53.2. If this gelding can build off that effort… 4 THISWAYORTHEHIGHWAY looks like the major danger. This gelding has won three in a row and five out of his last six. Jim Marohn, Jr. 6 STORY BOOK is another possible contender. Should not be overlooked in current good form. 1 POP ICON is in solid form and although he stepping up, he just might complete an exotic.

Race Nine:

6 WHATWILLHEBE has hit the board in all three of his recent tries. This gelding has faced better. With proper handling he’s capable of getting his picture taken. 8 FOR KEVIN’S SAKE will have to overcome his outside starting post, yet in the past he’s done that quite nicely. A major player who’s not to be overlooked. 2 L FLAVIADI fits in this company. He’s certainly capable of completing an exotic. 3 ART RETREAT won his last against weaker. He takes a big class jump here; yet he might just hit the tote.

Race Ten:

3 K J BEN won his last handily in this company. Anything resembling that last effort and this 3 year-old Matt’s Scooter-bred will have garnered his second-straight win. 6 COLBY JATE has raced against better at Pocono. This Jate Lobell-bred turned in a 1:52 mile at Pocono while finished second by a head. 7 I FOUND MY BEACH is another horse who’s raced against better at The Meadowlands. This Mach Three-bred should not be ignored in your exotics. 2 GOOD CITATIONS has been away from the races for almost a months, that’s concerning. Yet, at his best, this Presidential Ball-bred gelding, has rock-solid speed.
