I just noticed your posts. Not that it mattered because I don't handicap. All my selections are based on a very accurate Tote analysis. So while "recency" might seem important, as an outsider playing a track half-way around the world I'd rather put my faith in those who probably know a lot more about how these horses came out the races.

If you check out their odds board, you'll see win (subtract 1 for American style odds) and place payouts.

TVG is commingled into the HK pools, so they pay track odds.

Tough beat in the last. The :8: got a perfect trip, but amazingly enough was touted by two of the commentators. I didn't understand the love for the :14: since he'd never tried the distance. Magic Man ran out of magic with 5 winners on the card.

Did you notice the bad steps that Moreira's horse was taking in the post parade? They mentioned it too! After it was pointed out and I then noticed a slight raise in the odds on #14. :eek:

Those are the payoffs, which are independent of the Exchange Rate. The prices posted on the toteboard are based on $10 wagers, while TVG posts prices paid on $2 wagers. Since you're wagering in U.S. dollars, you're paid in US dollars. If you bet $10 win or show on a horse, or a $10 Q or tri, the payoff you receive matches the tote payoff seen on the video stream.

Twinspires and Xpressbet show the payoffs based on $1.30 wagers, since you must wager in exact multiples of the Exchange Rate in their systems. TVG does the conversion for you.

Today's total handle (or turnover as they say in HK), was $ 1,386,344,285 in Hong Kong dollars. Multiply that by .13 and we see that the $US handle was US $180,224,757.05. Wow!

As a side note, the Hong Kong dollar is pegged to the U.S. dollar, but has changed over time, and is currently .13 US to 1.00 HK, or 7.69 HK to 1.00 US.

It was a great race. 14 entries. Money all over the place. I think there was over $200K on the horse I bet to win, and he was 13-1. Even if that's HK$, that's still $40K US$ in the win pool, on a horse at 13-1. in a 14 horse field. It was very cool. No handicapping tools on TVG however. I looked at 3 horses, noticed Nitro had one in his play, and went with it.
