Very interested to know where both are headed next, looks like loads of talent in each horse. Not much big game to shoot for in the region this time of year, wonder if the plans include shipping/stretching out/selling for the highest $. Would imagine all have to be considered at the moment, or maybe a short break until bigger races appear in the spring.

Sadly, the way the game is, IF and I DO MEAN IF, these 2 pan out to be awesome, they can both avoid eachother all year. Except for maybe the Derby Weekend and BC time.

There's a $100K sprint and a $100K route over the AQU inner track in January, more likely for BB.

CS may be headed to OP.

113 TimeformUS for Cathryn Sophia toady, right up there with Behrnik's Banks (and Songbird!)

Songbird got a 99 Beyer. I believe Behrnik's Bank got a 93 or 94, and this one will probably be low-mid 90's as well. These loose-on-the-lead sprint figures for lightly-raced horses are probably the least trustworthy in the business but impressive speed nonetheless.

Cathryn Sophia is now two-for-two with earnings of $90,000. She ran the seven furlong distance faster than 1:24.63 the boys took in the Marylander Stakes two races later.

Servis said the filly is likely Florida-bound but made no predictions as to how effectively she would stretch out.

“We’ll stretch her out a little bit more each time and see how she handles it,” Servis said.

I had seen her debut at Parx and it was very impressive. Didn't see yesterday's race until just now. She had the same ears-pricked look as in her first start; just devastated that field. What's with these mid-Atlantic 2YO fillies all of a sudden?

At some point, of course, there will be pace pressure and a much tougher class test but these two are really something for a Md-bred and a Pa-bred.

Look for Bernak's Bank to show up next in the NYSS Fifth Avenue Stake on December 20th. $150K for 2yo fillies going 6 panels on the inner dirt course.

Breeder/owner is a genius. Breeds the filly in NY and then foals in Pa.

Eligible for both restricted stakes programs!!!!

And then you have TubbO at the Pig Penn looking to buy a bunch of losers from Retama Park.

Go figger.

To my eye, Behrnik's Bank has more of a middle-distance build whereas Cathryn Sophia looks more like a sprinter-miler. By no means do horses always run to their build but it is one indicator that I consider.

The owner of BB thinks the Dec 20th race is an easy $90K payday.

Should she come out of it OK he can't wait to run her in the 1mile 70y open stake in January 2016,

Say's he can't wait to run her long so you are most likely spot on.,

I'd like to see BB without an Ortiz on....

In other words, I want to see a true performance.

Another local (Parx) horse who doesn't seem to be as talented as the previously mentioned but is still unbeaten is Eighth Wonder. Curious as to where she will end up in her next race.

Cathryn Sophia just blew them away at GP.

Broke poorly, got a crap trip in a short field, and put that field to shame.

Serious horse in Cathryn Sophia.

Seven panels in 1:22.

A $30K Fasig-Tipton MidAlantic May 2yo purchase.

That's the kind of trainer I'm looking for the ones who average $405 per start. Where do I sign up?

This goof has been around in previous incarnations, too.

Colts went about a length and a half faster in the Swale, the next race.

Awesome Banner had a free trip the entire way around the track.

I'd take Cathryn against him next out.

Tough call, he ran a very fast turn, that seems to be his strong suit. They won't race against each other so it doesn't really matter.

True.

Both were very impressive in victory today. They were supposed to be tested, and they both showed up in spades and dominated.

And I think back on the $100,000+ FatsO at Penn National has blown on stiffs that he could have taken for 30K+ like this multi-million dollar filly.

It pays to know what you are doing......not only living once.
