The Meadowlands race office has requested that all trainers with horses entered in the fifth race at the Meadowlands for both Friday, Dec. 4, and Saturday, Dec. 5, evening's programs to submit training reports via email to trainers@playmeadowlands.com by noon Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Additionally, trainers of horses indicated as the top two morning line favorites in all races this weekend will be sought for reports on said horses. (Meadowlands)

Even if the trainers are totally honest it won't help us much. All they can say is the horse is eating well and restless in it's stall. It wants to race.

There would have to be fines and suspensions for lying or having a bad opinion. In other words if the horse is 'training well' and he backs thru the field, the trainer has to be held accountable.

That would be ok if they can enforce it.

Unless you can talk to the horse, I don't think a trainer report is of any value. If you talk to every trainer in a 10 horse race, 8 will tell you they think they will win and the other two will say they will have a shot. Do you really expect a trainer to say "my horse is a little off and I don't think he will run well today"?

I would be more interested in vet reports on horses from a competent vet before and after the race like they do in Hong Kong.

Here is a sample race

I have mixed opinions on this but it looks like horsemen like Ron Burke don't mind doing it so we will see.

Trainer reports for the 5th race Dec 4

1 Raced OK in last; expected to improve. Still getting to know the mare.
2 Trained fine this week; acting fine.
3 Raced well at Plainridge; trained well Tuesday.
4 Glad to see Andy Miller aboard. Changed shoes; hopefully will help.
5 Racing well despite posts. Trained well Tuesday; should like midpack.
6 Trained well this week; came out of her last race well. Should be in form.
7 Training fine, just needs to keep race tight. Second start since Sept.
8 Bridle changes from last; trained well Tuesday. Bigger track should help.
9 Had a good week; jogged 6 miles Monday through Thursday
10 Has been training and acting fine; came out of her 11/27 qualifier OK.

DZ i dont even read or consider his picks. Pandy or the DRF handicapper i would read comment's and consider there picks. Really i like to pick my own horses. The Trackmaster Platinum Program is good for information also. Training report i wont base picks on.

How about some training poorlys.

Also instead of 'trained fine' how about more specifics on the actual training instead of a hollow and biased opinion.

Nobody will ever say that. If they did and by chance one of those 'poorly' trained steeds wins a race at long odds, Gural and co. will be breathing fire down that poor trainer's neck.:D

I think the best you're gonna get is #4 in post 11.
