Hi KevB, no I'm not familiar with that APP. All I ever use is my Tote analysis to come with some decent plays. There are a lot of wide open events this morning.

You actually got me looking at HK races again last night race 2.

There was no place pay out ..... showed W and S.

Why no Place, so no exacta betting?

In Hong Kong betting, place pays for finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. The Hong Kong English language betting slips offer Win or Place bets. XpressBet bet offers WP or P betting, Twinspires shows the bet as WS or S. Only Quinella bets, no Exacta bets.

Do you know why they structure their wagers this way?

Are the US ADW pools separate or commingled with HK pools?

I might be willing to live with Quinella betting. Although, I haven't used that type of bet in a long time.

If you want to get a better idea of the betting structures for HK I would recommend taking a look at this link: http://racing.hkjc.com/racing/info/meeting/Results/english/
You’ll see all of the different types of bets available to the players there. To equate their HK dollars to US dollars just divide their amounts returned by 5.

You’ll notice that what TVG calls a Show return HK calls a Place return.
Other then that I’m only aware of the Win, Show (HK Place), Quinella, and Triple bets being co-mingled with the HK wagering. I’m hoping that eventually they’ll allow Super (HK Quartet) betting too.

The Tote analysis I’m using usually identifies the top 5 or 6 entries with emphasis on 2 keys which I use in the Quniellas an Triples. I really like the Quinellas because even with 2 keys and 4 others the $2 bet covering all 9 combos only costs $18. More often then not the returns are really good because of the large fields.

one of the biggest problems with Hong Kong is the high takeout. if you are betting with US adw's, they are only allowed to give a 2.5% rebate. Mark Reed in Australia gives 11% but i doubt if they are taking new US customer's these days.
