They cut the humorous ending (the part after the product plug) on the "spicy meatball" Alka-Seltzer commercial, where (after the actor has taken Alka-Seltzer for his heartburn from all those meatballs), he finally gets the dialogue right, but then the oven door in back of him falls off, and the director says, "Cut. OK, let's break for lunch.")

Also, multiple horses that I've bet on over the years were ridden by jockeys who must have eaten an Almond Joy before (or during) the race. :)

There was also an Alka-Seltzer commercial from about that same time period with a horse-racing theme. I couldn't find it on YouTube, but it featured a stereotypical horseplayer (pencil behind his ear and Racing Form in hand) saying in disbelief, "It was a sure thing. High Stockings in the fifth. Leading the whole way! Ahead by six lengths at the stretch! What happened? He fell asleep! Took a nap! My head! My stomach! Took some Alka-Seltzer." Then they cut away for the product pitch, after which they come back to the handicapper (apparently fully recovered), who says in a confident tone and with a knowing wink, "Tomorrow...Poker Chips in the second...CAN DO!"

MikeThe crying Indian in the anti-pollution commercial was Iron Eyes Cody who was actually Italian-American. Cody was obsessed with the idea of being native American and kept his Italian origins from everyone, including his family, until the day he died.

His original name was Espera Oscar de Corti.
