Good evening Nitro. Think the card is light in the beginning but gets much better as the day goes on. What do you use for pp's for Hong Kong?

Hi there Woodbinepmi! Glad you could make it tonight!

I don't PPs. I only use my personal Tote analysis. I follow the money.

The FormGuide at Hk seems to be pretty good if you're handicapping.

I use the pp's from the Hong Kong Jockey Club website, unfortunately they only give us 4 past races so I have to back to the website to get more running lines. As a former Ragozin employee I have started tinkering making performance ratings with the use of Trakus. Hopefully it will be worth my effort.

Nitro can you explain to me what time the racing goes off in Japan. I see that there were 7 previous races to race 8?

Is it two different tracks?

I'd like to help you out, but I'm focusing on Hong Kong tonight. ;)

I have no idea what's going on in Japan.

WoodbinePMI,

There's 12 races tonight from Japan. This is a North American pool only, so the handle is small. I believe Woodbine, ironically enough, is the host hub.

For Hong Kong PPs, each of the big three ADWs (Twinspires, Xpressbet and TVG) have minimal PPs, but they are free. You can also download the Hong Kong PPs from here:

http://racing.hkjc.com/racing/content/PDF/RaceCard/20151018_starter_all.pdf

Note - those PPs are listed with the bottom race as the most recent.

Race 2 Playing the :5: Goldweaver with the :2: :3: :8: :13: in the Q's and dutching the :5: and the :3: to win.

Based on what you mentioned, I thought you might be keying the 3 instead of the 5

They ignored #3 in the betting!

I use the HKJC pp's, wish they gave us more than 4 races though. Once I got used to the last race being at the bottom I like it. That was a tough beat in the last with #3 Consistent, thought I was a winner at the 100 metre mark.

Should have, leaving money at the window, #5 never got into his normal running position and then was stuck in on the rail with nowhere to go.

The speed index page will show up to 8 past races.

You can also click on the horse's name on the odds page, and get more PP info that way, but they are somewhat difficult to read - but do have links to the replays which is nice. Here's the PPs for #3 Jolly Spring coming up in the next:

I have come to the conclusion that they can put Moreira on a Shetland pony and they will bet him down to 2-1, it's like the old days at Oaklawn with Pat Day.

In case anyone is interested my selections were:
R# 3 - 7-4 W/ 12-2-11

R# 3 = 12-4-11-5 - QUIN & TRI BX

$2.00 QUINELLA – 4-12 - $23.90
$2.00 TRIFECTA – 12-4-11 $213.40

You know I collect data from halfway around the world without a glitch. I can post my bets on TVG without any problems. Yet this site repeatedly has problems.
Too bad because it’s fun sharing info, but this is ridiculous!

Have a nice evening fellas!

Key play here for me in the 5th, #1 Danewin Express ran a figure two races back to win at this class and encountered a ton of trouble in his last only to miss out by a neck on the 28th of September. Catches a slow field for this class.

Hey Nitro - I was off working on some other things, but based on past experience I believe the hosting service for the PA website is performing reboots on Saturday nights. It costs more to have a site hosted with high availability, so I would guess the folks behind the PA scene who pay the bills just opt for a 15 or 20 minute outage instead. Of course the irony is that PA is busier on the weekends, with racing from Asia rolling right into South Africa.

They ought to reboot the servers on Tuesday nights.
