Mandatory payout on the Pick 6 at Hastings on Monday (our Thanksgiving) - carryover into tomorrow is just over $100,000 canadian (which is about $7.42 USD  )

4 stakes + a 12 furlong race + a 16,000 claimer - field size is good now, but there were a lot of scratches today due to illness.

Good luck to those who take a swing at it. I may try and get some picks and thoughts into the Selections thread later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Is the pick 6 two bucks ?

For those of us betting through HPI here in Canada, it's a 20 cent minimum - not sure for other ADWs??

Did you get it? the 20cent paid $10,774.18

I would have had to go very deep to get the ->

4th What Goes Around $50.90
5th Crazy Prophet $43.10

It does remind me of something I heard from an 'old timer' about 30 years ago. He said the last day of the meet is 'getaway day' and many stables have been hiding the form on a horse or 2 to make some cash from the pools as they move to wherever they are going next. His strategy was to bet $2 to win on every horse entered in every race that day.

I filed it in the 'crazy ideas I have heard at the track' folder, but on this getaway day, the ROI was greater than +10% in the win pool.

I went 5/6 not having the $4 horse in leg one. Had the $50, $40 in the sequence but not the second choice always a bridesmaid in leg 1. Was pretty nasty watching the sequence play out

Didn't Hastings Park at one time have tentative dates into November for this year?

I'm guessing those didn't go and the meet ends in October?
