Thanks Lambo.....I went to bet that :3: and the gate was opened and they were down the backstretch already. I had to change a smoke detector battery--dang thing was driving me nuts--so it saved me $10 dollars.

Seems like a long time ago but that :9: Imlotlikemybrother did win that--didn't go off @ the 9-1 though.

I continue to piss away a big portion of profits with wagers that I'm horrible at. Place bets--and any Exotic/Horizontal bets. Today is a good example:

I bet 8 horses to win (including two I dutched in the samed race) 3 won @

$12.80--$7.20--$6.20 ...$10 W on each= $80 bet Ret $131 for a nice +$51.00

What I also foolishly bet was $30 on 3 Place bets @ Fresno
$8 on Pic-3
$12 on XB's
$6 on Tri box

Only finished slightly ahead today because one of the silly place bets(which won anyway) returned $18. I've known for a while if I just took whatever I was going to put on the Place--and just added it to the Win, forgot about exotics....profits would skyrocket.
Yet here I am.

NorCalGreg - I find myself doing the same thing. I handicap the races, come up with about 10-15 key races at 4 or 5 of the major tracks and tell myself to just play these races. When the time comes, I start looking at the races before and after for possible Dd's, pick-3 or others and end up giving back what would have been a profitable day if I stuck the "plan".
Fortunately, right now I only play "recreationally" and my wallet doesn't get hurt as much as my pride.
Just a little side note. I love your icon. Been a member of the "Raider Nation" since Daryl "the mad bomber" Lamonica and George "the kid" Blanda. They have also fallen on hard times lately but like you and me, some day we will all win the big :ThmbUp: :ThmbUp: one again.
