Yeah, we found that strange as well. We did read that his trainer wanted an easier race at one mile than 1 1/4 miles. Still, that only suggests he is likely not fully cranked.

With the exception of Honor Code this race looks like it will have heavy Breeders Cup Dirt Mile ramifications.
I would guess multiple horses come out of this one to run @ Keenland on Halloween.
