I was checking out some videos on youtube in the Breeders Crown and came across "Red Bow Tie". I then thought how did a great driver like Luc Ouelette be not racing today.

Does anyone know if he is still in racing? Being the nephew of Mike La Chance, he did very well for himself at the Big M before heading back home to Canada.

Shame I don't follow Canadian racing as closely as I used to follow them so I lost contact with his career.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Luc Ouellette is simi-retired.
He has been driving once in awhile at Mohawk.
On Sept. 26, he finished out of the money with ALLIES GIFT in Mohawks 9th race.
On Sept. 21, he had 2 out of the money finishes also at Mohawk.

You'll see him every once in a while racing at some of the smaller tracks like Flamboro, too.

Great talent at YR in the late 80s, only overshadowed by Case.

Thank you Money and all of you others that replied.

On one hand it is sad that one has to choose between his family and his occupation but I can see both sides of opposing forces pulling at him. I applaud his decision. Once the kids go to college he might as well get back into the game big time, if not driving, at least training. He is younger that Dave Palone (53). Before he reaches 60, the youngest would be in college and oldest in grad school. (using post secondary education as an barometer for he time spent with family).
