At Kentucky Downs today (9/16), there were 2 races in a row with $100 winners....

Race 10 - Ubiquitous Mantle - $125.20 (61/1)
Race 11 - Kalamos - $102.00 (50/1)

I would think this has happened in the past but several of us at the track couldn't think of a time that it did.

BTW, late pick 4 with these 2 pays $79k....for $.50....

I ruined my Race 10 bet. did not have the 4. had the 8. exacta(3,5,8) The 8 backclass was huge.

race 11 no way that 9 should have won, I had the 3..

One winner took the entire pool.

Does any portion carryover to Saturday?

How could there be a carryover when there was a winning ticket? Also, to my knowledge pick 4's don't carryover as the entire pool (minus takeout of course) is paid to tickets with 3 of 4 winners.

One winner took the entire pool.

I pretty well figured that out. Just posting the enormous price.

Nice $30k Pick 5 carryover into closing day on Saturday, though...

I thought no one hit 4-4 until I reread the original post. At certain tracks, in both t'breds and harness, if no one hits all 5 in p5, all 4 in p4 or even all 3 in a p3 a small % is paid to the partial ticket winners with the remainder carrying over. Betting into those horizontal carry-overs can prove quite lucrative.

When I saw the thread title I was thinking a trainer, jockey, entered or rode back to back $100 winners or a member here handicapped two in a row.
I think for a stand alone win bet only I have only had one in 40 years of betting horses.

to hit the 50 cent pick 5 at belmont yesterday paid $38,000,
1 longshot and 4 top 3 picks all short fields instead of a pick 3/4 at KD's 20 horse fields.

I was sick at KD yesterday- as i had the first two legs of that pick five that included that 60-1 winner in leg two. A younger horse that only had to improve a bit to be in the mix. I was deep going forward in leg three and leg five but still missed as I couldn't include the 9 in leg three under any handicapping scenario. Even after he won I had a difficult time figuring out how. Of course I had the last two winners and missed on a big score. :bang: It is not often I have three or four tickets alive with 60-1 winner. Another tough beat.

In the 9 years I have been following horse racing, I have been fortunate enough to land a $100 winner. It happened at Kentucky Downs. I love the place.... :)

I've never had a winner over $70. A number of $50+, probably 20-25 or so in 33 years, but I've never caught that huge one. I caught an $80 horse in a pick 3 once. I just never see what others are seeing in those huge priced winners.

I was never a frequent win bet player....I think the largest win payoff I ever hit was in the 20's.....Seriously.
However I have hit several exactas where the winner paid over $40. some over $50 to win....The largest would have been a $60 horse that I had both ways with the filly Epitome. That one was making a return after a layoff.
I loved the filly that wound up second to Epitome by one of those little muzzle hairs. Exacta went from over $300 to around $110.....JNust as a saver I reversed that ONE combination. Otherwise for whatever reason I was all over the 30-1 filly.

Ive had my share of $100 winners over my 45 years of playing this game, I have even had a $200+ winner but never had one under 3 bucks.
