Not a good past week or so for former NBA big men. Darryl Dawkins died recently, and now Moses Malone.

Used to see him around Houston a lot. A huge man in person. Would say "Hi Moe", and he'd say Hey back and wave. So friendly. Believe he was the first to go directly from high school to Pro basketball.
Rest in peace, tough guy. :)

Both Darryl and Moses came straight out of high school to the pros.
Moses and Doc led 83 Sixer team was a good one, I think only NBA title for both guys.

Two of, arguably, the biggest and toughest guys of all time dead @~ 60. And a whole bunch of wimps going to outlive them. Big and bad must be relative and life is constantly humbling.

Second only to Wilt, IMHO, and one of the nicest men you'd ever want to meet, which I did in Philly on several occasions.:( :( :(

Don't forget Anthony Mason and Brian Grant.
