Although unchallenged the Placer with early speed held on nicely which could mean that the turf course might favor some speed. The closers weren’t making much progress in the final furlong either.

Yeah, the track could be favoring speed, but when a horse that's not won a race in 42 starts wins, and is favored at even money, you know the field wasn't the strongest.
