race 6 :7: Kentucky Road was moving well late last. He didn't do much running at all early. Could be value-add if he's under the radar.

race 7 :5: Colorado Grandslam could steal the race if he gets a better trip than heavily favored Uncle Sigh.

race 8 :7: Crown D'oro has some value as exotics add after a rough trip last out. Could be a pace factor with Jose Ortiz.

race 9 Two standouts, but Constitution(speed on paper) very likely has some issues, and Ironicus prefers to come from off the pace. A dangerous race for speed to steal. :4::5: are both solid horses with top jockeys. You figure one of them will be prepared to try to steal this if Constitution doesn't fire. I did not use :6:, but Ortiz makes this one scary.

race 10 :1: Magna Light and :4: Set The Trappe are the two talents in here, but things may set up extremely well for :7: Uncle Vinny. I don't project Uncle Vinny to be a great horse going forward, but he's fundamentally sound and his style fits. Maybe he'll win today and take $$ in the Breeders Cup Juvenile? If the race falls apart It should also help a wiseguy horse like the :6: Ralis.

race 11:10: Queenofzeenile is an interesting exotics add type. She was near a slow pace last, but she was wide and out-lasted the place horse and galloped out well. She'll need to be forward on a slow pace and find a way to come over during the long run from gate to the first turn @ this 1 3/16ths distance.

r6 Motion 1ster :8: (not covered), is taking a lot of money.

Maybe I'll get knocked out in the 1st leg?

I like the FTSer in the :6: Kusama. She looks awfully good in the post parade. The other Pletcher in the :10: Double Dose is getting forgot about at the window as well.

10 is pretty big as well...

Chad Brown has :1::5: and Clement has :6:, and Wesley Ward's :2: should improve today as well.

I expect one of those 4 to run a decent race here.

whew!

rough 1st race.

All 20 tickets still alive.

Scratch of the 3 in the first race refunds a little bit back.

She is going to be a good one.

Not a bad race considering the pace and traffic for a FTSer. Won't get 7/1 next time out.

Nice job on staying alive after that one. It was the 2nd toughest leg in my opinion.

:4:Uncle Sigh is a heavy favorite today and he's singled on a bunch of players' tickets.

I never thought of him as a star horse, but he's solid and should be around 8/5 in this field. (currently 3/5).
I'd have to guess he runs down horses like the :5: in the stretch.

I only used 2 'a' horses, so I'm leaning on him like everyone else.

The :7: Whale Rock is slightly scary. He hasn't changed leads every time in the past, so I'm hoping he hasn't figured anything out for a top barn. Something I will be watching for.

:7: is a massive overlay.

Whale Rock ran pretty well for his price.

Didn't change leads until the final furlong but still hit the board.

:2: Rectify blows up most of my tix..
I viewed him as a wise-guy horse. I wasn't crazy about him, but I guess if Sigh doesn't fire, and Grandslam doesn't steal the race, it becomes wide open....

Blinkers were obviously big for the :2: as he was going backwards in the stretch his last 3.

Always bet though, and took plenty of action today considering the ridiculous overbetting of the :4:.

since I'm alive to only 'a' horses, I'll throw in a 50cent backup p4 for 'b'/a/a/a:

.50 x 3,8 / 1,2 / 1,4,7 / 2,5 =$12

True. He was live on the board. Serling picked him on top also.

Probably reaching here, but like the :8: Fila Primera. She really hasn't ran a bad race to date and gets an upgrade in Johnny V.

:2: Tide Is High might be able to wire the field in here.

Not sure what Cancel was doing. No need to get out in those fractions again as there really wasn't any other pace in the race.

2/1 was actually a square price on the :5:. She was the class of the field.

Thank you Cancel.
He would likely have been unopposed on a slower pace..., although Gap Year probably? had his measure regardless.

That :4: 'Runner Runner' is going to be decent for Brown. Race set up well but took a while to get in rhythm, and may have had some traffic entering the stretch.

Congrats Irad Ortiz jr. (riding title)

I'm not super confident about Race 9.

:2: Constitution has issues. May have been the Florida Derby where he stayed on his right lead throughout the gallop out turn. He's got the layoffs. And he opened at an ice cold 9/2 on the board...

:3: Vyjack is tough if he finds his turf stride. I'm against.
:4: and :5: are both solid, capable of winning.
:6: Grand Tito is scary because Jose Ortiz may get to walk on the lead, and he isn't going to pull an Eric Cancel.

Go :1::2:

I'm wondering why they are putting the :2: Constitution on turf.

Hard to look past the :1: Ironicus in here as he has had a fabulous 2015. He is due for a clunker though.

:3: Vyjack just isn't strong enough down the lane for me.

:6: Grand Tito is the interesting shot in here, but if the :1: shows up he wins.

difference between using :2:Rectify as a 'b' instead of a 'c' in race 7 is i would be alive to both 'a's and 'b's ... Now it's just A's.

:1: Magna Light - That swerve was probably telling us that he doesn't want more class and distance. He remains a threat to take it up front.

:4: Set The Trappe - Ran big last time. Likely improves today, perhaps gets a better trip. Barn is going well. My top hope today.

:7: Uncle Vinny - Overbet (should be closer to 4-1). Strong fundamentals, stalking style. Hopefully he picks up pieces behind my :1::4:.

:1: Magna Light and :7: Uncle Vinny coming out of the G3 Sanford are the logical choices in here.

:2: Salislaw and :5: Tom's Ready are the potential upsetters for me.

:6: Ralis is a tiny bit scary in here.

His stablemate was a better horse last time, but he got a good race in, and rated kindly.

I'm hoping that if things fall apart, the 7 beats him to the punch.

my :7: looks washed-out

:8: could be OK. I just couldn't play that horse.

Last race of the meet.

I thought :2: and :5: were the best here.

:4: is OK
:12: Shipper is a bit of a wiseguy horse. A lot has to go right in order to get her to run here today. Interesting long shot.
:10: Looks outclassed, probably is but this is one that has impressed me with her gameness in the past.

Going with the :3: Voila La Victoire. Banged the gate in her American debut and gets some class relief in here. Solid turf pedigree.

20/1 ML, currently at 8/1.

Nice capping on that Pick 6. Tough break in the 9th, but 5 of 6 pays $336. Tripled your dough.....

Robert Fischer
09-07-2015, 06:51 PM
results:
1('A') w/2('C') w/5('A') w/1('A') w/6('B') w/2('A')
3 consos of 336...

Handicapping mistake:
In race 7, I should have had the 2 Rectify as at least a 'B' and not a 'C'.

Simply a handicapping error. strong prior dirt form

turf back to dirt 2nd off layoff
blinkers on
blazing works
2nd choice in Daily Doubles from opening leg
That (C->B) would result in 1 winner of $44K. And some more consos...

Nice, but for a $10k 'mythical' p6 ticket it wasn't as huge a score as I would think. (3-1return) Especially with Uncle Sigh going down as kind of a public single.

Yea, I spread a wide net there and if I had been an expert in every race and not messed up the 7th race, would have been somewhat of a high percentage. Probably better than 25% and a fairly quick return for $10K. On the downside, a couple of those races were awfully close...

This was the first p6 I tried to tackle like this, so I'll have to do more thinking about it. It was fun to try.
