I want to get Win 8.1 off my laptop and give Windows 10 a try. I reserved a spot from MS a month ago but haven't heard anything. Just how long is the wait for Win 10 now? I expected to have it in a few days at most.
Anyone know how to follow up with Microsoft to see if an email went astray? I haven't been able to locate any way to even ask a question about download waiting time.
Thanks,
Dick

I didn't even ask for Windows 10.
A pop up from Microsoft came on my screen when it first came out asking me if I wanted to upgrade to it.
So I did.
It took between 15 to 25 minutes and it works quite fine.

I had this white windows logo just appear in my tray, and I would be notified when available. Was never notified, so clicked the white logo-got a message that basically said to just cool your jets..like we said, we'll notify you.
So.........evidently, they'll notify me.
Signed up and week later downloaded

It is available for me but I haven't done it yet. From what I've read you should choose a custom install as opposed to default because apparently W10 has large hands and touches a lot of your data and is continually talking to something out in cyberspace.

I thought the FREE win10 upgrade period was over. Is it not?
Note: If you have an XP-era machine, you may get a lot of problems.

You have a year from the release date.
