There might just be a correlation here between slot holds and racing takeouts.

Tighter slot machines might be hurting revenue, industry research suggests (http://vegasinc.com/business/gaming/2015/aug/20/slot-revenue-drops-machines-get-tighter-industry/?__utma=1.1599591355.1440074058.1440074058.1440074 058.1&__utmb=1.0.10.1440074058&__utmc=1&__utmx=-&__utmz=1.1440074058.1.1.utmcsr=(direct)|utmccn=(di rect)|utmcmd=(none)&__utmv=-&__utmk=177328677)

Quote:
“While statistical correlations on a state-by-state basis vary due to any number of factors, the broader, aggregate trends would suggest a rising hold percentage has not translated into incremental gaming revenue for operators during the post-recession era,” the report concludes. “In fact, they very well may be contributing to its decline.”

Perhaps they have found market saturation.

I think they found market saturation a long time ago with slots. When players lose money quicker, they depart quicker with an unpleasant memory.

I agree, as my wife and I enjoy the mindlessness of playing the slots once in awhile, but there are places that have reached that "tightness" that is in focus here...Simply put, we just don't go there any longer...

Even tho we know it is very hard to turn a profit on a daily basis, we endeavor to that end anyway, as it minimizes the losses, using that mindset...Still, even tho we expect to lose long term, all we ask for is a little "ass-time" for the fleecing...

Keep on Casinos, and you will melt yourself right out of business....jmo
