The last 4 races on the card were suddenly cancelled, due to an "injury in the paddock".

Sounds bad.

Any info?

Any info?I was going to ask something similar. Equibase simply says "Management Decision"

Rumor on Twitter a valet was injured. There isn't a peep from the Del Park account, not even that racing was canceled.

Whatever it is, I'm saying prayers that all involved make it out healthy.

Reportedly unconscious and remained on the ground after the race was run. With no medical personnel attending....not good at all. And worse, no excuse. NONE.

Godspeed. Prayers for Mr.Hollick. :(

From the link Idiatone posted - sounds like legitimate concern about the response to the injury:

Valets and riders at Delaware Park were reportedly upset with the length of time it took for medical assistance to arrive, according to sources close to the situation, and the remainder of the card was canceled.

Hollick was taken to nearby Christiana Medical Center. According to sources at the hospital, Hollick has a concussion, a broken collarbone, and a laceration on his ear.

You'd think with all that slots money they are doling out they would have the ultimate in medical care ready and waiting.

Too, given the fact that it takes.. what? 15 minutes to drive through the entire state when headed north or south on I-95?

There's money, and there's no excuse for this. They could've landed a helicopter in the infield.

The Christiana Hospital is on Stanton-Christiana Road right across the street from the track and is less than 5 minutes away.

I find it repulsive that Delaware Park Management knowingly ran the upcoming race and had the ambulance follow the horses instead of attending to him.

That is repulsive if true.

With brain injuries 5 minutes can be life or death.

If I wasn't around (in the hospital) when my mother was unexpectedly hemorraghing to death, I would've lost her.

Every second mattered and they ran a RACE??????????????

If that is really what happened, I hope the guy sues the track into oblivion.
Totally unacceptable.

1) I hope and pray he makes it through this difficult time with no long term injuries.

2) I hope he sues them for 50% of casino profits from now until the year 3755.

If that is true (that they ran a race and had the attending ambulance cater to the race instead of him), I have no ZERO pity for any karmic retribution they receive.

I sincerely hope there is another side to this.

I've seen this song and dance before, and so have all of you. There are legal issues involved that prevent the ambulance that follows the jocks around from helping in non-racing medical emergencies. I'm sure their only option is to dial 911 like everyone else...

As a bettor I've had to sit thru plenty of delays because the ambulance was being used, delaying or canceling the race is an option.

Typically, that track ambulance is not allowed to leave the grounds. Another ambulance is summoned.
What you stated is almost surely what happened.
