Among those who would be meeting American Pharoah for the first time are the first-and third-place finishers from the July 31 Curlin Stakes at Saratoga, Smart Transition (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/smart-transition/2012?source=BHonline) and King of New York (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/king-of-new-york/2012?source=BHonline); Japan (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/japan/2012?source=BHonline), who was third in the Jim Dandy; Tommy Macho (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/tommy-macho/2012?source=BHonline), third in the Dwyer; Face of Winner (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/face-of-winner/2012?source=BHonline), making his stakes debut; and recent maiden winner Mid Ocean (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/thoroughbred/mid-ocean/2012?source=BHonline).

With these new additions...the competition still looks a bit light. It's easier to figure AP's running here when his van pulls through the back gate. Not before then. ;)
