It's been 31 years, just like the 31 lengths he won the Belmont, and I still get chills watching the replay of that greatest race of all times.

Agreed...

Your not a horse racing fan if watching that race does not give you chills.

"He's moving like a tremendous machine" has to be the single greatest line ever uttered during a race call. How appropriate and descriptive. I will NEVER be able to watch that race without getting chills when I hear that line. Brilliant race, brilliant call.

That race shows what separates the good ones from the great ones. He overcame a ridiculous pace (6f in under 1:10) and won by a pole. His track record still stands after 30+ years.

This is why I have his bobblehead doll on my desk. :)

I had to have cigarette after watching that replay again!
And I don't smoke! :D

That was one that will never be duplicated.
You gotta be damn sapecial to get into his club.
Smarty was the onyl one in years I thought deserving of the honor, and he proved he was short.
It will be a long time before I get excited about a KD/Preak winnier again. Like it or not, it just not that impressive anymore-happens to many times.

Personaly I think Point Given was the best in recent years, needed a better ride in the Derby and it may say TC next to is name.
