So on the plus side...it's pretty cool seeing the DRF PPs revert back to showing the track records from the pre-2007 ones now that DMR is back to dirt.

But is it not possible to make some sort of notation that a horses DMR record pre-2015 is, well, pretty much meaningless? New surface, new banking in straights and turns...last year's performances mean little for today, unless a horse shipping to DMR for the summer just LLOOOOOOVVVEESSS the smell wafting in from the Brig.

And the analysts' comments don't seem to acknowledge the switch either. Plenty of references to prior performances over the poly as if it's still there.

IMO, track records should reset since this is a "new" dirt track. Break up track records pre-poly and post-poly.

You're right, logically, but I imagine they'd get more complaints/questions from people saying "why are all the Del Mar records 0 0-0-0" or "this horse won a race at Del Mar last August but is listed as never having run there, wow the DRF is so sloppy these days" than they do by leaving the DMR records the way they are. Look at it this way---you're a step ahead by knowing to toss those stats.
