Oh, that was painful. I also took Soi Phet, winner of $475,000, $100 win at, 32/1. Got floated wide by the 4 and lost by a long neck! That would have put us in the hunt! But it was the right play, so no worries.

I love these conditional allowances Del Mar cards. This one was open to stakes winners in 2014. Not sure how Little Jerry managed this, but kudos to Pedroza. That was a fine race.

The only day I'll seriously throw money at DelMar is Big Cap day. Else forget it, they're crooks. All that big betting , fancy money, rich people, all that colorful talk on TVG, and what do they offer? Mostly cheap claiming races. What do they do with all that money?

For some damn reason....in these handicapping contests, instead of taking the logical, most likely winner as you did Tor---I had to look high and low for a clever price horse that would catapult me to the top of the standings LOL. Although I did just miss yesterday, playing only for pride and bragging rights throws me a psychological curve-ball.
I also LIKED the :7: Perfect Set -but selected :6: Downtown C.T. in the contest. Good luck all :)

I saw a race a few weeks back at Canterbury
where about four gates opened late.
One of the late breakers won the race.
The others were declared non-starters.
I think that was a fair outcome.

One thing is for certain with these types of incidents.
You will never have 100% of bettors happy with the call.

I remember this Ainslie method that said to bet any maiden that ran against winners last out and (obviously) didn't win- was fit and ready (horse is back in 5 days) and good trainer--(B Abrams). :5: LIRICA HEAT fits that bill to a T. I don't really do maidens so I'll defer to ol' Tom Aislie and hope for the best. Good luck all :)

She can handicap circles around me, and knows how to structure bets and manage money way better. She collected on that $1600+ P/4 at AP last Saturday when she got put up in the race where Spencer was DQ'ed. She had THE PIZZA MAN as a stand-alone.

I used to take her to work with me auditing NYRA when she was a tot (early '80's), and I guess being around the Mutuel Dept. rubbed off on her. Interestingly, her older brother is into computers and trains, not horses.
