Can you believe this comment from Frankel?
"Basically, I told [jockey Jose] Santos not to ride [Master David] to beat Smarty Jones; ride the race to be second"
WOW! Do the stewards really want to be reading the above quote?
As of 7 a.m. EDT Wednesday morning, Frankel was not even going to run the son of Grand Slam, but a series of phone calls, including one from Santos’s agent, Mike Sellito, telling him that Racing Hall of Fame trainer H. Allen Jerkens thinks Master David can win the race, convinced Frankel to enter the colt.
Shades of Imperialism and Kent D. in the Preakness, eh?
