Of all the nauseating stories I've read about criminal behavior involved in horse racing, this one is right up there. Two fires that killed dozens of horses and, apparently, a settlement for insurance money AND animal mistreatment for dead and starving horses on his farms. Whew....that's a lot of subhuman behavior for one a**hole.
Funny thing, since I follow Canterbury racing, I noticed this clown was a trainer of a handful of starters over the last few years. I laughed with a buddy of mine about the fact that EVERY, and I mean EVERY, runner he sent out was beaten 80 lengths in all of their starts. We wondered out loud why people like this want to be in the game.
