Of all the nauseating stories I've read about criminal behavior involved in horse racing, this one is right up there. Two fires that killed dozens of horses and, apparently, a settlement for insurance money AND animal mistreatment for dead and starving horses on his farms. Whew....that's a lot of subhuman behavior for one a**hole.

Funny thing, since I follow Canterbury racing, I noticed this clown was a trainer of a handful of starters over the last few years. I laughed with a buddy of mine about the fact that EVERY, and I mean EVERY, runner he sent out was beaten 80 lengths in all of their starts. We wondered out loud why people like this want to be in the game.

Now we know...

Here's another scumbag breeder for you. Turns out the horse I had a minority interest awhile back with one of those 50/50 trainer partnerships was "raised" by this guy. The unscrupulous trainer that ran the partnership probably received this "rescue" for free and advertised him online as a 5K partnership. Had I known the horse I was in on was raised by this guy then I would have looked elsewhere. Glad I only was in for a very small amount of money.

The lawyer is also some kind of character for saying that his client checking 'no' wasn't intended to mislead. Of course it was intended to mislead, maybe he thinks we were all born last night?
