9th @Mountaineer: 6f Clm5000N2X ~ purse $6,200 ~ 7/21
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3YO+Up, non-winners of two races lifetime.
(WV-Bred races not considered in eligibility)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One isn't the loneliest number in closer! One Dropdown,
One Cutback, ONE JBM,& potentially ONE Lone Speed!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Indymoodforlovin (10/1 ML)- 3YO Closer broke maiden at mile.
Best used under as Tri/Super filler.
2) Ultimate Gaucho (8/1)- 6YO returned from 22-month vacation
running. Looks LONE SPEED, but jock Ortiz doesn't stick around to ride.
3) Wigginton (5/1)- JBM looked good dusting weak bunch on private
purchase. Could be threat with move forward, but IMO underlay @ML odds.
4) Hurricane Bob (20/1)- One OK effort in seven local 2015 tries.
BCS as Super/Super-Hi-5 filler.
5) Favorite Pastime (5/1)- 4YO cuts back 440 yards after a dull
local debut. Solid 2nd behind 2/5 fave two back. Could improve.
6) Seattle Brook (12/1)- Private Purchase by Low% connections
seldom winning angle. Can't endorse 4YO, but may be 'target speed'.
7) Clever Missile (20/1)- 5YO goes 2nd off Layoff/Private Purchase.
Broke maiden 20 starts ago, shown little since.
8) Big Bubba (9/2)- Prominent in all six local starts, but 5YO has
failed to seal the deal late. Must-use in Verticals, shaky on Win end.
9) Dolce Lusso (6/1)- WV-Bred took #TheNesteaPlunge off long
layoff, failed to respond. 2-time winner eligible due to loophole, but
both wins were on turf, many moons ago.
10) Mark of Fang (3/1 ML Fave)- Fang bit backers with dull try
as 4/5 fave behind Bubba. 5YO got frequent flier miles in last year,
going from Suffolk to Timonium to DelMar to GoldenGate to Mountain.
Best Beyers by Bunch, but Fang's scary to trust as fave.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: When i see a horse that has a pace advantage
drawing a cozy post and listed as 8/1ML, i'm SOLD AMERICAN!
#2-Ultimate Gaucho has PPs that hardly impress, but faces weak bunch
including ML Fave with no early lick & a spotty worktab.
Second choice ML, #8 fits, but has pulled defeat form the jaws of victory
too often for my liking.
Co-third choices in ML @5/1, #'s 3+5, look like only other win candidates,
& i'm OK letting them try to beat me.
#'s 1-4-9 could provide value in Tri/Super/Super-Hi-5 wagers.
GOOD LUCK to ALL, & See You at #NightSchool!
