The best part of that song was in the beginning...when he sorta narrates a little bit: "I was so ragged, folks used to call me Patches" The only sappier song I can think of right now was "Honey" by Bobby Goldsborough, or Cale Yarborough, or JJ Cale, or somebody (sorry to hijack your post redboard)
