Can somebody remember next year to post a message prior to CBY extreme day reminding us that the dirt horses always finish 20 lengths in front of the turf horses??? Here are today's payouts for the dirt runners:
Ex 133.70 for $1
Tri 2,313 for $1
SF 521 for $0.10

The first time they ran it, turf horses made up the superfecta. Then they tried maidens, boys on the dirt, girls on the turf to make it more even. That might've been the year one surface's gates opened a split send after the other, so all money was refunded.

Last year the dirt horses dominated, so they tinkered with this years running, but not enough.

I did not go yesterday because of the crowds and only one race was really extreme, and it was the battle of surfaces.

In 2016, first you have to handicap the adjustments Canterbury makes, and if you think one surface will dominate, concentrate on that surface. Then handicap the horses.

Be prepared for too radical an adjustment.

This race has never had a mix of all surfaces in the top 3 official finishers, if my memory is correct.
