You have probably seen on the racing media that ASD jockey Alyssa Selman was injured very seriously in a race at the end of June. There is a fund raising social at the track on Sunday night that includes a live auction of items donated from across North America. Here is the link to the feed:

I'm scared to ask, how is she doing?

The really sad thing is that Alyssa was really just an exercise rider that wanted to be a jockey and rode the occasional race. It is just a very sad situation but there has been an incredible outpouring of support from the industry. The track has halters from Zenyatta and American Pharoah that they will be auctioning off to her benefit. I have to admit to tearing up when they showed the video tonight of Bob Baffert taking the halter off of AP to send for auction. Horse people are the best!

That is sad and at the same time very thoughtful of the compassionate horsemen.

I pray for her best possible recovery.

This hits home. She was given a 5% chance of walking.

My mom was given a 5% chance of living anywhere near normal on March 29th. My mom has come a long way and i pray this poor soul overcomes the 5% AND WALKS AGAIN!!!!!

God be with her....
