9th @Mountaineer: 5F Clm5000N2Y ~ purse $6,600 ~ 7/14
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3YO+Up, non-winners of two races in 12 months.
(WV-Bred races not considered in eligibility)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One shipper, One stretchout, No cutbacks over 220Yards.
On paper, plenty of pace to set up stalker/closers.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Betty Porluck (6/1 ML)- 5YO steps up off nifty N1-6mo. win as
the 1/5 fave. Both 5F dirt tries this year solid, but under gun from rail.
2) Proud Trick (8/1)- EARLY SCRATCH
3) Saigon Story (20/1)- EARLY SCRATCH
4) Fire Ridge (10/1)- 10YO gutted out win at this level last out,
only to be DQ'd. Bounces off tough effort & 49 Beyer cutting back 110Y?
5) Eminent Tale (10/1)- 7YO tried the 2F "Oddball Claiming Series"
first off private purchase. O-for-2015 Trainer/Jock."it's a Put On."
6) On The Wing (30/1)- 6YO would have been Super-Hi-5 filler
in last pair if those races had one. On The Outside... PASS.
7) Put to the Test (9/2)- Private Purchase returns to site of last
win. 2014 form would crush these, but think the 2015 Test has changed.
8) Battle Facts (3/1 ML Fave)- 7YO wired N1-6mo. foes in local
dirt debut. Last 3 wins all at 5F distance, may be speed-of-the-speed.
9) It's a Privilege (6/1)- Lone new shooter lures Parker, looks to
have solid stalking speed, & all the locals minus fave nothing special.
10) Bank of Dad (4/1)- Bank defaulted as even-money chalk in last,
won w/"SwoopersBias" 2015 debut. 20 Wins, NONE @5F. Underlay@ML.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: Expect ML Fave to be swiftest early, key to race
is Betty from rail making life tough early. #'s 5-7 also want front end,
but likely sit off top pair. #'s 4-9-10 should be in 2nd flight, with longshot
#6 hoping for pace meltdown.
Based on ML, i'm singling #9 It's A Privilege, hoping Deshawn can
work trip similar to 5F win @PennNational Dec27th. 6/1ML pipe dream
if live, so catch in horizontal bets for best value.
If i find price single in one of first three legs, i'll play Pick-4,
spreading in 9th to use 1-8-9-10.
GOOD LUCK to ALL, & see you at #NightSchool!
