Thursday and Friday's cards are up, and I'm pretty certain Delmar lowered purses this summer. I'm certain MSW last summer was $75K. This year they're $70K. I'm certain the lowest level maiden claimers were $25K last summer compared to $23K this year.

Still fat purses, but it's the first time in quite awhile I've noticed Delmar lowering purses for the summer meet. The Bing Crosby meet purse structure mirrored Santa Anita's purse structure. I'm not comparing that to the summer meet.

70K for non winners is still way too high, just another example of entitlement from horsemen.

Wow this Saturday Onoly a 9 race Card....With not one but TWO Maiden Claimers. One of which is a $80 -$70kk Md Clm for 2 yo Fillies....
'Scuse me....I have a question....
Yes, you in the back row.....
Ahem...Who the hell puts their 2 year old in a claiming race?.....
I digress.
Not a real impressive first Saturday..
Oh, This Friday...real adrenaline rush here. 8 race card....6 of them are sprints....One at a mile. One at 8.5F...One turf race. I presume the one turf event carded is due to the 4 they have Saturday. One of which is the G1 Eddie Read.

I have often wondered why purses for Maidens are so high compared to NW 2/3 Allowance company....
Heck Saratoga is going to offer $85k MSW races.
Well, look for yourselves. Here is Saratoga's Book 1

Interesting side note....NYRA is writing straight money allowances with the number of wins as a sub condition
