On my betting site, I see the following information:

Race classification
Surface
Length
Purse

Is other information available to the public, such as:

How is the purse broken down - 1st, second etc?

What are the entry fees?

Purses are broken down differently at each track. Usually its 60%-20%-11%-6%-3%

For the purse breakdown, I refer to the race chart e.g., from DRF. A lot of tracks now payout for every entry. I've seen entry fees noted on the pp's from BRIS e.g., for stakes races.

What are the entry fees?

There are no entry fees for most races. This only applies to stakes races, where the owners put up a stake or fee to run.

Thanks - I found the information in the Equibase charts.

Here's everything you always wanted to know about purse distribution in thoroughbred racing - and didn't even think of asking:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purse_distribution

But my all-time favorite was the one used in Michigan (at the now-defunct Detroit Race Course and the just-revived Hazel Park) in the early '70s, which observed 60% to first, 18% to second, 9% to third, 4% to fourth, with the remaining 9% being equally divided among the remaining starters, provided that there were at least 7 starters - although I would modify it to give every finish position its own share: For a 10-horse field, for example, that would mean 60/18/9/4/2/1.8/1.6/1.4/1.2/1 (actually in this case it was 60/18/9/4/1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5).

If you have any questions about how virtually any track divides/divided its purses, either currently and over the past several decades, let me know what track(s) you're interested in and I will be more than happy to pass that info along.
