9th @Mountaineer: 1Mile Md5000 ~ purse $6,100 ~ 7/7
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maidens, 3YO+Up
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Four runners stretchout, including the lone new face, a WV-Bred trying
open company maidens. Lone class dropper part of ML-favored entry.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Henry Hudson (8/5 ML Fave, POE)- Kills price on the half of the
entry that may be able to run a little. Next...
2) Undaunted Courage (9/2)- Just missed two back, and may be
controlling speed unless drop perks up #1A. Nice post & ML price.
3) Mr.Reattatude (8/1)- Locally white-hot trainer brings WV-Bred
from CharlesTown & barn jock to try 8F & open foes. Normally,
this would be EZ-toss, but connections make 4YO a must use.
4) Mabee a Dream (15/1)- 5YO useful Super/Super-Hi-5 Key. Next...
1A) Include Vision (8/5 ML Fave, POE)- 3YO takes TheNesteaPlunge
from MSW to the bottom. Bracho sticks w/#2,Lagunes just as good.
The Horse To Beat, but perhaps not to fear.
5) Frosty Autumn (7/2)- Beaten Fave tries two turns 1st time, has
been on good race/bad race pattern. This would be time for good, but 4YO
likely will be 5/2 off odds as 'the alternative' to #1A. Your call.
6) Holiday Bound (6/1)- Tri filler in 3-of-4 locally, rider upgrade
IMO. Looks like solid 'under' key, hard to envision win.
7) Monochromatic (15/1)- TwoSprints-2-route for owner/breeder
that hasn't fired locally in 2015. Lateral rider switch IMO.
8) Arrhythmia (10/1)- 5YO stretches back out after sprinting for the
past year. 32-race maiden 0/10 going two turns. Private Purchase.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: #1A is a must use in horizontal bets if he runs, but will
likely be unattractive off win odds, compounded by his no-shot entrymate.
#2 has had many chances, but may be controlling speed, & Bracho
knows the ML Fave well, having ridden him in last pair.
#'s 3-5-7-8 all try stretching out, but none has breeding that makes you
think they will make a big move forward doing so.
Of the quartet,#'s 3-5 my tepid picks to enjoy it the most.
#6 gets positive rider switch, but keying 3rd in Tri looks like best use.
In Pick-4/5, I'll go #1A-2-3, in Late DD, 2-3.
GOOD LUCK to ALL, & See You at Night School!
