View Full Version : Question On The Los Alamitos Thoroughbred Track

I don't know why this is such "top secret" information - but it would seem as if the new Los Alamitos thoroughbred track is significantly less than 1 mile in circumference. Check out a video of any route race held there: No way is there anywhere near a full 1/16th of a mile from the finish line to the 7 1/2-furlong pole.

So can anyone answer this dumb riddle? And once it is solved, it becomes possible to determine how long the turns are - if, of course, someone also knows how long it is from the finish line to the first turn, another apparent "secret," which can actually be revealed if anyone has a pre-1982 edition of The American Racing Manual handy, which should include this information.

Thanks for the link. Keep in mind, there are all different levels of computer user on this site. If someone wants to ask on here rather than use Google, that is fine. We don't need "thread police".

I'm sorry, you're right, I didn't mean for it to come off like that.

I happen to really like what Los Al has done with their facility in the face of all the negativity in SoCal, so maybe I read into the post as someone looking to complain.
