I took a look at the P-6 card for Hollywood today and see a tough, tough card. I see at least 5 strong contenders in every race,

except the 9th--where I see no contenders--assuming Buddy Gil will be bet heavily and is already a big underlay at 8-5 ML odds--whiich means they are all contenders

and the 10th, a MWS 5.5 furlong on the TURF, with 9 first time starters...

so its a ticket of 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x all x all
and its still not likely to win

SO, I'll throw together a small, small ticket and call it a day
1,10/4,9/4/3,8/9/?? = $32 (assuming 2 horses in the 10th)
Good luck.

cat0,

What did you decide to play in the 9th??

Anyway, you got me to thinking about a small ticket as well:

4,7,10/4,8/4,9/3/9/6,8 for $48

Hated to have to single the 3 in the 8th, but wanted to keep the ticket under $50.

Good luck to all.

Well you had to be pretty excited after hitting the first three races....

_______________

I played the 8 and 14. I think I hit 1 of 6 :)
Very competitive races

Another time

take care, Cato

Yeah I was pretty excited, and then I was a little angry at myself. In the two races that I singled, the horses that won were my other choices. I tried to get a hold of a friend of mine hoping to split a ticket adding those two (the 1 in the 8th and the 4 in the 9th) as that increased the cost to $192 -- way too much for this recreational player alone.

Well, you know the old story, couldn't get in touch with him being Memorial Day and all. We would have had the consolation as my two choices in the 10th were out.

Oh well. Coming close got me excited about handicapping again, so I'm turning this into a positive.

We'll get 'em next time. Good luck.
