9th @Mountaineer: 5.5F Clm5000N4X ~ purse $6,500 ~ 6/23
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3YO+Up, Never Won Four races.(WV-Bred races not counted in eligibility)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seven scheduled to run after early withdrawal of 9/2 ML
Lincoln Flyer, a deep closer who wouldn't have affected pace.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Tiburon Latino (20/1 ML)- First two local tries OK for 5YO, but
has shown nothing last pair. Low % rider takes over.
2) Buy Buy Mistake (10/1)- No shot @2 FURLONGS last two, was
against bias local debut. 4YO's three wins at 5.5F. Easiest spot in 2015.
3) Lincoln Flyer (9/2)- SCRATCHED
4) Fiddler Blue (7/2)- 5YO steps up off visually impressive win,
every try locally has been good. Draws cozy post, low % jockey sticks.
5) Allegheny Shine (5/1)- WV-Bred has 6 wins,double any in field
thanks to WV-Bred loophole, but 5YO has disappointed last 4 at short odds.
6) Super Cobra (4/1)- 4YO goes for Three-peat, only dull local try
was against bias in March. Figures to sit just off pace near Allegheny.
7) Chase N Maddie (3/1 ML Fave)- Good Race/Bad Race pattern
for 4YO stretching out 220Y. If last was 'good' race, that's 'bad'.
But if a "Bad Start" compromised chances, that's good for Fave players.
8) Forever Smile (8/1)- Favored in local debut three back, 5Y0
came from off pace w/bias for N3L win last out. Yet to crack 50 Beyer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: It's the Local Debut from winning connections for
ML Fave #7, who figures best on Beyers, but all wins have been @4.5F.
Three runners step up off N3L wins, #'s 4/6/8, & while all have OK
figs, i'll try to beat them all in Horizontal bets.
#5 is a WV-Bred in open company, a bet against angle for me the past
five years here, but since eligibility rules have changed, they have
become DANGEROUS in restricted open lifetime claimers,
Barn names "Go-To" jockey that is 5/12 with them, so i'll tag along.
My #CrazyLongshot here is from my hometown track Suffolk Downs.
#2 Buy Buy Mistake needs to have a fair or inside speed bias track
for best shot, but "i've Got A Feelin',a Feelin' Deep inside, Oh, Yeah",
that an 0h-for-34 barn & oh-for-20 jock locally can enjoy a "Sea Cruise"
& steal this one, with the rest of the field feeling the currents behind!
I'll Go 2/5/7 in Pick-5 + Pick-4, and stab w/ 2+5 in Late DD, Pick-3.
Good Luck to ALL, & See You at NIGHT SCHOOL!

8th @Mountaineer 5F Clm5000N3X ~ purse $6,300 ~ 6/23
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3YO+Up,never won 3 races.(WV-Bred races not considered in eligibility)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lone Class Dropper making local debut will try to Takeititothehouse
vs. runner going for Three-peat. Both enter off Private Purchases.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Ninety Grand (20/1 ML)- 6YO changes hands via private purchase.
New trainer 1/34 since 2012. El-Paso.
4) Takeittothehouse (5/2)- 5YO has beaten one runner in three 2015
starts vs.better, may be speed of speed.11th in only dirt try at this level.
1) Roman Legend (5/1,POE)- 8YO's best try fourth locally in
seven starts. Looks at best like "Target Speed" for entrymate & closers.
2) Texas Town (2/1,POE, ML Fave)- 4YO has cut it close on best
days, OK second last out, improving Beyer pattern.
1A) Fortune OF War (5/1,POE)- Yet to beat runner in three 2015
starts, & two local in-the-money efforts were pre-claim in 2013.
2B) Noontime Ridge (2/1,POE, ML Fave)- WV-Bred get to play
even though he has 3 wins. Last pair "Ugg-Lee!" A 'Go-To' jock named.
5) Dancing Leaf (4/1)- Solid connections, but as Mark Patterson
says, "If you bet on a slow breaker, you're making TWO bets...
ONE, that he breaks,& TWO, that he wins."
6) Shore Manor (7/2)- What to make of 6YO going for Three-peat,but
off Private Purchase from trainer having a career year. Your call.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: ML Favored entry (#2) will get plenty of support,
but not from Me. ((Note to chalk Players: Now All clear to send it in!))
2nd & 3rd ML Choices, #4+6, both enter off Private Purchases,
but only #6 has the "DANGER, WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!" look.
#5 can win & will be less than ML odds, but habitual slow breaker
makes him an underlay.
The #1 entry & #3 seem up against it.
I'll hold my breath (& nose), & single #4 in ALL Horizontals
except Late DD, where i'll use #4/5 to the #2/5 in closer.
GOOD LUCK to ALL, & See you at NIGHT SCHOOL!
