This has been billed as Solow vs. Able Friend ... but 6 out of the last 10 winners came from the Lockinge Stakes.

Night of Thunder and Toormore are the horses from the Lockinge.

Night of Thunder is talented and loves a straight course. He should run well and is my top selection. Only concern is whether he gets enough pace up front.

Able Friend is a cool horse but first time racing out of Hong Kong I believe. Read the connections are concerned about soft ground, the guy is massive at 1300 pounds so am guessing he is not good on it.

Turf listed as good to firm now so should not be a factor. Magic man up helps.

The Royal Procession

Oh look - it's the Duke and Dutchess of Cornwall, and there's Lord Festie, don't miss Lord & Lady Grimthorpe in the 3rd carriage...twaaaaaaa!

Gimme Toormore in the 1st...going to crack the exacta (or whatever they call it in England)

Night of Thunder, Toomore and Able Friend stunk.

Solow won. Congratulations.

Yeah Able Friend showed nothing. A lot against him in that spot. First time on a straight hill course and guess Moriera's first time at Ascot, only ride and heading to Happy Valley for tomorrows card. One of the announcers before the race mentioned possibly not traveling well.
Unfortunate, would have been nice to maybe see him in the states, though longshot there and no chance now.

Good play of first against. Solow on the turn back and the mare ran nice.
