Lock Your Taps! Drought Has Thieves Stealing Water Like It’s Liquid Gold

MILPITAS (KPIX 5) — Police are warning for businesses and residents to start locking up their taps. California’s drought has gotten so bad, people are stealing water.

They used to shoot horse thieves, perhaps they should do the same for water thieves.

And in five years California will have even more people living inside its borders without any relief to its diminishing resources. Other parts of the world are managed even more stupid, 50 or 100 years ago such arid land had much less people so resources did not have to be stretched as far.

I'm hoping for the best for CA, but there would be some sort of poetic justice in the state's economic suicide if other states learn from it.

Unfortunately, the lesson learned will be that if you screw up royally, the feds will bail you out. California public pensions alone are currently under funded by some $200 billion. Future generations of Americans will be paying for that and the rest of California's messes.

The worse problem for underfunded pensions is IL.
