So lets say AP wins on Saturday. If you are rooting to see a Triple Crown winner you will say "yay" but than what? What changes for you personally? If your answer is that its good for the game, tell me how its good for the game.

What will be different about the sport of horse racing when we wake up Sunday morning if AP wins?

Don't tell me you've finally run out of things to talk about?

Nada. Zip. Zilch. It's not the same since I saw the last TC Coronation live back in 1978. There probably won't be another like it. It has somehow "lost" something.

I will have to pay off certain members of this board, who took me up on my offer when I gave 4/5 odds on AP in the Belmont.

In the racing community and in sports it would be a big deal .
The seventies had three so it was expected to continue but it didn't .
It's been a long wait .

Then of course he would be expected to win the BCC which wasn't aound
until early eighties . Even better would be the horse that could beat the TC winner in BCC .

I love the TC races and all of it's hoopla, and I hope AP takes it all down...It can only be a plus for horse racing...

Tho personally, not a thing will change for me....It is just another horse race, in the end...

For me, all my Triple Crown memorabilia would go up substantially with AP winning. However, Frosted will win and we'll all just have to wait another year......

If AP wins, then I'll be running a sale through the end of June at Overlay Publications (http://www.overlaypublications.com) in celebration of the occasion. (Self-publicity, I know, but you asked the question! :) )

Nothing.

If you like horses, or if you like betting, or both, you will continue to watch racing. If you don't and made up your mind a while ago, a Triple Crown will not change that.

Maybe it will bring new sponsors in or new fans in, that are watching for the first time. But, I haven't been able to feel excited about it.

I'll put a few bucks in my pocket and reset my TC clock to 0... ;)

Same thing as when the Age Of Aquarius happened - nothing different, other than it will give the people I know who hear about it but don't follow racing something to mention to me in the elevator.

Considering that there's never been a Triple Crown winner in my lifetime, it would be nice to finally see one. Other than that, I'm not really sure.

I guess its the same as a baseball player winning the Triple Crown, if it doesnt put money in YOUR pocket, why does it matter.

I will hug my wife and kid and say well that was pretty cool... or something along those lines. Then go back to my beverage like nothing happened.

I will have to spend time answering the question that will surely be posed by my non-horsefan buds, "What's the big deal about the Triple Crown, anyway, and how come no horse has done it in 37 years? AP made it look easy."

And third. And fourth. If AP wins, the super may not break into triple digits.

If AP wins, I'll have to concede that the breed may not be in as much trouble in terms of stamina and longevity as I thought. I hope it doesn't reverse the smidge of anti-raceday medication momentum that's present....

I will buy the t shirt. I'm sure it will have Monster Beverage all over it as well as AP's picture. There will be zillions of $2 win tickets on AP for sale on Ebay for $50. One good thing...horse racing may finally get the good headlines it so badly needs....
