I have bet the races in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Chile, and The United States. In Australia, I have noticed that they co ordinate their post times to space them for different tracks. In the North America, they do not. For example - tonight there are only two thoroughbred tracks running in North America - Mountaineer and Presque Isle Downs. Mnr's 2nd and PID's 5th were both run at the same time. I am a last minute bettor and I hate being rushed. Is this good marketing strategy on the part of track management - or another example of the tracks not caring for their bettors?

Drives me nuts it can't be that hard My guess is every GM at every track thinks the others will accommodate them. Or maybe not but I guarantee there are egos involved.
My other pet peeve is (TVG) once SA starts the east coast tracks become minor league
But I'm still glad we have TVG

Normally I would say that there probably aren't enough bettors affected by a couple of minor tracks for the management of either to care.

In this particular case, it would seem to be incredibly inept management, since both tracks are run by Eldorado Resorts.

They would love to close both tracks. Why should they care about races running at the same time? This is what you get when you combine casinos and race tracks. How anybody thought that was a good idea for horse racing is beyond me.
