This is how the rest of the world operates. Only in the US do we add the charade of political contributions to facilitate bribery.

Sepp Blatter is head of one of the most important
sporting organizations in the world.
It is, also, one of the most dictatorial and corrupt bodies imaginable.

Although he hasn't been charged with anything, there is little
doubt that he has some involvement in these matters and,
if that is somehow not the case, the man is directly responsible
for those in trouble.

Any person with the slightest conscience and integrity would resign.
That, unfortunately, does not fit the character of Herr Blatter.
He will cling to power as long as he can, and will either have to die,
or be carried out into the streets from his office.
The man is a complete joke, and a bad one at that.

The election for his position comes up on Friday.
Most of his opposition have dropped out already fearing the inevitable.
One opponent remains, a prince from the Middle East, I believe.
I hope this scandal may sway the voting towards a successor.
Genghis Khan would do a better job than old Sepp.

Seriously?

Say it ain't so Sepp Blowhard!

The next thing we'll hear is that the IOC aren't choirboys and politicians aren't filling their pockets!

Oh, the horror. :bang:

There's a lot going on here......the prospect of UEFA (European)
teams boycotting the next WC is very interesting.
Something has to give.

This

I love it when folks on a horseracing site post about the corruption, scandals, and underhandedness of other sports.
That's rich.

FIFA + briberies = zzzzzzzzz. Investigate the briberies our senators and congressmen have taken the past 30 years. Makes FIFA look like a garage sale.

This whole FIFA mess with Blatter reminds me of the movie Mississippi Burning. Blatter is guilty as hell but I think he won't get nailed. Just like sheriff Stuckey in the movie. He was too smart to leave any trail. All of the people around him will be found guilty though.

With so many under him indicted, I'd be surprised if someone
doesn't dish some dirt on him - assuming there is evidence.

Someone will dish some dirt, however, it won't lead to any indictment. The evidence simply won't be strong enough to bring him down. I doubt someone audio recorded conversations with Blatter. Remember, FIFA has been so corrupt for so long that nobody ever expected to get caught. So no need to gather evidence beforehand just in case problems arise. Blatter knew everything about the bribes and money laundering but that wont get him nailed.
