Is your IQ below 100? If so, worry about improving this score first.
If not below 100, work on improving your spelling and sentence structure. Race scores can wait.

What's your IQ?

It could be that the scope of the problem is not limited to computers. But you came to the right place, so there may be some hope.

Final time is dead as a predictor in case you didn't know. Looking for an argument?

Sir if I knew the answer I won't have ask the query, it should

be clear to you that I don't know that final times mean anything.

I guess there is more than one way to look at the races.

I'm tring to find out how final time will bring about a race score.

If you have any knowlege about finding a final race score, way don't you pass it along to me ,so that i will understand how one arrived at it.

opps spelled a word wrong

really just looking for help. lets end the remarks and offer some help
if you have some. thanks

As for the "get the hell off my post" comment, take it up with the Administrator. Kindly elevate the level of your inquiry.

I don't think anyone understands what you are asking.

Do you want to know how these guys in your email calculated that race score, or are you asking how someone hypothetically could "score" a race?

I would like to know how they came up with there final race score.

unless someone on this board sent that email to you I don't think anyone can help.

Infinite possibilities on how they came up with that number.

What was the email refering to? Any specific book or software?
Was it by chance refering to Caroll's book on Handciaping Speed?

I guess when Steven Jobs granted all those IMACS to charity mental asylums, a lot of peope thought:"How nice to help out the poor unfortunate mentally retarted, now they will be able to access the internet".

Well, that's well and good, but when the patients(inmates)start posting on your board, you gotta wonder if charity is really a 'good thing'.

All the smart ass and wise-ass comments in the world don't do anyone any good. If you've got nothing to add to the conversation, and you can't answer the original question, then how about not replying? Or at least reply in a civil manner.

The original question was cryptic, but at least it was civil and genuine. PSTfredk wasn't looking for an argument, so why give him one?

Take a look here Fred. Scroll down and you'll see links for "Speed Figures and Variants."

Sounds like they're using their own method of rating the horses. Perhaps they'll tell you how, unless the figures are proprietary which I suspect they are.

Your race was at Lone Star Park, still on Equibase Full Charts. Workouts showed a very normal speed track; chart fractions for your race shows faster early fractions, slow late= slow stretch.
Working backward with hundredths of seconds beginning with a speed index of 94.84, assuming the track record or 3 year record is speed index 100.0.
add .02 to 94.84=94.86. Subtract from 100.0=6.14; that is 6 1/7 lengths, or about 1.23 seconds. Subtract 1.23 from 1:17.35=1:16.12 record. Just a guess without the actual formula.
