I saw BB play live a few times. He was slowing down a bit in recent years, but he still always put on a great show.

When I was young I didn't give him enough credit as a guitar player because he couldn't play as fast are some other blues guitarists. But I know better now. It doesn't always matter how many notes you play. What often matters is that you play the right ones in the right way! By that standard, he was amazing. RIP

OK blues guitarist, better singer. Played the same licks over and over but knew his audience and they loved him.

Rolling Stone had him at #6 and T-Bone Walker at #67.

That should have been reversed, IMO.

Had a pretty damn good career considering he couldn't sing and play at the same time.........

gotta admit, he had his own style

Saw him twice in the past generation, when he was slowing down. Of course, he was rolling along doing 100 dates per year at 86!

I'll consider myself fortunate if:a) I'm alive at that age; b) I can properly use the "facilities" every day.

Beyond legendary, BB was. Thrill, definitely gone.
