A good swing and solid contact, that's a 6 iron for me.

Thanks for the video, but what you gave us was Scully with the replay, not the live call.

Gary Carter hit the rafters in the Astrodome and the ball bounced back into shallow centerfield. He was awarded a single. :)

I didnt find a video with the live call where you could even see where the ball went, so i posted a video that showed a different angle. You're right, i should have mentioned this wasn't the live call, my bad.

There was a play the other day in Tampa, it was the last out of the game, a Rays player hit a ball that was headed for the left field seats, Brett Gardner was on the warning track to catch it (or watch it go over his head) and the ball hit something in the roof and bounced all the way back and the Shortstop caught the ball on the fly for the final out of the game. Very odd situation.

There was a rule in the Astrodome if a ball made contact with any of the structure in fair territory it was ruled a single regardless where it landed.
Believe Mike Schmidt was only other to hit roof of the dome and his was ruled a single as well.
I recall as a kid when dome first opened and watching batting practice, a few would try to toss ball up and hit the roof themselves, but seldom did. Then the management made them stop.
